Each year, approximately 1.5 million children are born in Uganda, and around 15,000 of these children have congenital heart defects. Of these, 8,000 require corrective surgeries. However, the country has the capacity to perform only 1,000 such surgeries annually, leaving a devastating backlog of 7,000 children in need of life-saving operations. This gap underscores the urgent need for resources and specialized medical expertise.
We are raising funds to support corrective surgeries for children with congenital heart defects. This initiative aims to reduce the backlog of children awaiting life-saving operations.
FY24/25. We aim to aid 10 children with heart defects to receive corrective surgeries.
