Women’s Health Services (Obstetrics & Gynaecology)

International Hospital Kampala provides the ideal healthcare environment for both mother and child with its experienced team of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, complemented by a team of highly trained midwives and its modern facilities. The hospital also runs a dedicated women’s centre which operates 7 days a week.

Obstetrics services include antenatal care clinics, birthing facilities, and neonatal care. The facilities include 3 modern labour and delivery rooms and 1 dedicated Operating, equipped to handle all emergency obstetrics cases round-the-clock. Each labour room is equipped with a modern maternal and foetal monitoring system for to ensure complete safety of both mother and child before delivery. Painless delivery services are available on request.

An obstetrician is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week ensuring a rapid response to obstetrics or gynaecology emergencies.

A wide range of Gynaecological procedures are conducted including laparoscopic procedures which allow for faster patient recovery and discharge. Our Operating Theatres are equipped with high end Karl-Storz laparoscopy equipment for minimally invasive procedures.

Two specialist led clinics and two midwife led clinics run 5 days a week with an emergency midwife present in the Accident and Emergency department 7 days a week. An additional specialist led clinic runs on Saturday morning providing a range of options on when to schedule an appointment.

Range of Services

These include antenatal and post-natal care, specialist consultations, well-woman check-ups (including cervical and breast cancer screening) and family planning services.
